NoNoiseYT Privacy Policy

Overview

NoNoiseYT is a Chrome extension that suppresses background music in YouTube videos using AI-based audio processing. All processing happens entirely within your browser. No data is collected, transmitted, or shared with any external service.

Data Collection

NoNoiseYT does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Browsing history or URLs visited
• Audio or video content from YouTube
• Analytics, usage statistics, or telemetry
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

Local Storage

NoNoiseYT stores your preferences (enabled state, suppression strength, intro filter duration) using Chrome’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to any external server
• Can be cleared by removing the extension

Network Requests

NoNoiseYT makes zero network requests. The AI model and all processing assets are bundled within the extension and run locally in your browser. No audio data is ever sent to any server.

Permissions

NoNoiseYT requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab: To detect when you are viewing a YouTube video and attach the audio processing pipeline
• storage: To save your preferences locally on your device

Third-Party Services

NoNoiseYT does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external APIs.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
